Puerto Rico trip – Day 9

We spent our last morning in Puerto Rico on the beach just outside of the apartment we were staying at. There was a little commotion on the beach as a couple cops were notified of an egg that appeared on the beach. A few beachgoers mistook the chicken egg for a sea turtle egg, but luckily, no charges were pressed…or scrambled!

We headed back into Old San Juan to visit the Castillo de San Cristóbal fort. Not as big as El Morro, but just as impressive, we got some great views of El Morro and the coastline from here. We then met Francisco for lunch at El Hamburger, ironically making our last meal in Puerto Rico a hamburger and fries after eating some incredible island food all week long.

It took us a little while to get used to the Puerto Rican way, but by the end of the trip, we were ready to stay a few more days. Definitely, another great trip to remember, and I hope to one day return for some more great island adventures.
