Colorado-California trip – Day 16

As we made our way in the morning back to Aaron’s place, we stopped by the super-small city of Buena Vista. C-Lo’s originally from the small town of Buena Vista, Virginia, but even her hometown blows away California’s version, which boasts one store and that’s it. We then drove into Placerville and over to Gold Bug Park and Mine. We each donned a hard hat and went into the dark and damp mine for a narration of life back in the mining days. We next went to Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park just up the road in Coloma for a nice walk around the historical buildings and river. Then, after lunch in downtown Placerville, we drove over to Aaron’s, where we took it easy for the rest of the day, and rested up for our flights back home the next day out of Sacramento.
